Apple’s “Scary Fast” event on October 31st is a bit unusual in that it will take place in the evening. The event will start at 3:00 a.m. Turkish time. We expect Apple to introduce M3-powered Macs at this event, including the 24-inch iMac and MacBook Pro. An interesting event related to this event has emerged. Apple is sending some users AirPods Max in gift boxes.
Why is Apple shipping AirPods Max?
To promote the event, Apple is sending gift boxes to select influencers. The box includes a free pair of over-ear AirPods Max headphones ($20,846) and some snacks and drinks that the influencer can consume while watching the “Scary fast” event on Monday night. The name “scary fast” refers not only to Halloween, which takes place on Tuesday, but also to the fast performance offered by the M3.
TikTok influencer Lamar Wilson posted a video on the platform showing the gift box and AirPods Max he received from Apple. The user captioned the video: “Oh my god, thank you @apple for the surprise box!”.
Although unlikely, Apple could use Monday night’s event to unveil three new iPad models. The trio was rumored to be unveiled on October 17, along with a new third-generation Apple Pencil with USB-C charging support.
As it turns out, the new Apple Pencil was unveiled, but the new iPads were not. The three expected tablets include a new 11th-generation base iPad model, an iPad Air with M2 support (the previous model was equipped with the M1 chip) and a seventh-generation iPad mini with the A16 Bionic chipset inside.
While we wait for the iPads, renowned analyst Mark Gurman reports that these new iPads won’t be unveiled until March and that they will all receive a ‘feature boost’. The 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2024), the first iPads ever to feature an OLED display, will be announced at a separate event after the other three models become official in March.
