Samsung continues to add security features to Galaxy devices in recent years. Now they have added two more new security features to the list: Quick Share Private Share and Samsung Cloud Advanced Data Protection.
Quick Share Private Share
This feature is a “privacy-preserving file sharing function” that allows users to share their files safely. Private Sharing ensures that shared files can only be opened by designated recipients and that files can be restricted by permissions and expiration dates. Additionally, users can share files with read-only access, deauthorize resharing, restrict screenshots, and see when the file was received and opened by the recipient.
Highlighted Features:
- Files can only be opened by designated recipients.
- Set permissions and expiration dates for data.
- Grant read-only access without resharing permission.
- Ability to cancel data access at any time.
- Restrict taking screenshots.
- See when the recipient received and opened the file.
- Possibility to share 20 files simultaneously with a total size of up to 200 MB.
- Using blockchain-based encryption technology.
Usage Steps:
- Select file > Quick Share > Ellipsis (more options) > Turn on private sharing.
- Once the message is sent, users can check what they sent and change the expiration date or revoke sharing permissions.
Samsung Cloud Advanced Data Protection
Advanced Data Protection ensures user data remains safe in Samsung Cloud. This feature will be available starting from the Galaxy S24 and will ensure that data is protected with end-to-end encryption (E2EE). This means that data can only be encrypted and decrypted on the user’s device and cannot be accessed by anyone else. User data will remain safe even if the server is compromised or account information is stolen.
Highlighted Features:
- Reducing data loss with end-to-end encryption (E2EE).
- Data can only be encrypted and decrypted on the user’s device.
- Keeping data safe even if the server is compromised or account information is stolen.
Usage Steps:
- Samsung Cloud > Ellipse (more options) > Settings > Advanced data protection.
- Alternatively: Settings > Security & privacy > More security settings > Advanced data protection.
When enabling these features, users’ device when stolen or they will need to write a recovery code to help prevent data loss if damaged. Thanks to these steps, Samsung enables its users to manage and protect their data more securely.

VLC Media Player, artificial intelligence powered subtitle creation It is preparing to make users’ lives easier with its feature.
With this innovation introduced at CES 2025, VideoLAN aims to eliminate the trouble of searching for subtitles for movies and TV shows. The most striking aspect is that this feature works completely locally and offline, meaning no internet connection is required.
Details of New Features
- Artificial Intelligence Supported Subtitle Creation:
- VLC will create real-time subtitles by analyzing the media file you play.
- This completely eliminates the hassle of finding or syncing subtitles.
- Built-in Translation Feature:
- VideoLAN President Jean-Baptiste Kempf stated that subtitles can be automatically translated into other languages.
- The system aims to support more than 100 languages, which is a great advantage for global users.
- Working Locally and Offline:
- Subtitling and translation will be done without requiring an internet connection.
- The feature is an important step in terms of privacy and accessibility.
Advantages of VLC
- Solving Subtitle Finding Problem: Users will no longer need to search for subtitles for media files for hours.
- Offline Usage Possibility: A great advantage for those who do not rely on streaming or prefer to watch media files offline.
- More Language Support: Multi-language support is a perfect solution for those who want to watch subtitles in different languages.
Comparison with OpenAI
Companies like OpenAI have been rolling out subtitling and translation features for a while now. if it improves de VideoLAN’s solution is integrated into VLC Media Player in a fully integrated way. Additionally, the fact that VideoLAN’s solution does not require an internet connection distinguishes this feature from its competitors.
VideoLAN celebrated 6 billion downloads this week. Jean-Baptiste Kempf noted that even at a time when streaming platforms are popular, VLC’s number of active users continues to grow. This shows that users still tend to focus on their own media files.
Currently, this feature has only been introduced as a demo and it is not clear exactly when it will be available. However, a launch is expected in 2025.

Apple, iOS 18.3 released beta 2 version. There have not been many changes in 18.3 so far, but an innovation discovered in the new beta update will delight users. Here are the details…
iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, which were released to users last September, came with various changes and innovations. Apple didn’t have its own calculator on the iPad. However, with iPadOS 18, iPad models got a calculator. The calculator on iPhones has also been renewed. But not all of Apple’s innovations in the calculator on iOS were well received. One of these was the removal of repeated transaction support. Many users complained about this situation.
What exactly is the recurring transaction feature? For example, let’s say you are doing the 4 x 5 calculation on the old calculator. When you press equal, the result is 20. By pressing equal again, you could multiply 20 by 5. The result was 100. When I pressed equal again, 100 was multiplied by 5. So the process was repeated like this. Apple brought back the action repeat feature, which it removed with iOS 18, with iOS 18.3 beta 2. This feature will also be available in the full version of iOS 18.3. Now users will be able to press the equal button and repeat the process as many times as they want with peace of mind. It is said that iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 will be available at the end of January.
The most notable update this year will be iOS 18.4. 18.4 is a critical update because it will include comprehensive upgrades to Apple Intelligence, including Siri. Version 18.4 is expected to arrive in April. iOS x.4 updates are usually released in March, but 18.4 will be released a little later than usual. The release of iOS 18.4 may also coincide with the launch of the iPhone SE 4. Anonymous sources close to Apple had previously claimed that an important update would be released with the release of the iPhone SE 4. Maybe this rumor could be true.

iOS Users Receive More Cyber Attacks Than Android
A new study has shown that iOS users are exposed to more cyber attacks than Android users, contrary to popular belief.
A new study has shown that iOS users are exposed to more cyber attacks than Android users, contrary to popular belief.
A new study by Lookout, a Boston-based cloud security company, found that iOS devices are exposed to higher levels of phishing and web content threats compared to Android devices. This analysis, covering the third quarter of 2024, highlights important trends and alarming statistics in mobile security threats.
The research stated that identity theft and phishing attempts against corporate devices increased by 17 percent compared to the previous quarter. It was also emphasized that there was a 32 percent increase in malicious application detections. While it was observed that iOS devices were more vulnerable to these threats, in the first three quarters of 2024, 19 percent of iOS devices encountered at least one mobile phishing attack, while this rate was recorded as 10.9 percent on Android devices.
The evolving nature of mobile threats is becoming a serious concern as cybercriminals increasingly target mobile devices in the early stages of their attacks. Lookout’s research highlights the need for stronger security measures to protect sensitive data on mobile platforms.
Additionally, Lookout’s Threat Lab has identified two critical mobile surveillance software families linked to advanced persistent threat (APT) groups in China and Russia. These findings once again reveal how complex and persistent threats targeting mobile devices can be.
The company’s AI-powered data set, which covers more than 220 million devices, 360 million applications and billions of web content, plays an important role in determining global threat trends. This data guides security teams in different sectors on precautions to be taken against mobile threats. Additionally, by integrating telemetry data obtained from mobile devices into their security strategies, it becomes possible for businesses to strengthen their defense mechanisms through systems such as SIEM, SOAR or XDR.
Research While reminding once again how critical mobile security is for businesses and individuals, it reveals the importance of using advanced security technologies to deal with new generation threats.
