There was talk behind the scenes that Embracer Group would sell Saber Interactive. Finally the official announcement has arrived.

Embracer Groupannounced that it agreed to sell Saber Interactive to Beacon Interactive for $247 million. In fact, Beacon was founded by Matthew Karch to sell Saber. Karch is one of the co-founders of Saber. There have been talks between Embracer and Matthew Karch since last November. Karch withdrew from management of Embracer and Saber to avoid a conflict of interest. As a result, Saber Interactive will become an independent company with this sale. Additionally, studios such as 3D Realms, Slipgate Ironworks and New World Interactive will be affiliated with Saber Interactive. Studios such as Aspyr Media, Tripwire Interactive and Tuxedo Labs will remain with Embracer Group.

We have been hearing about Embracer Group’s name with layoffs since last year. Embracer recently canceled its new Deus Ex game, which had been in development for two years, and laid off 97 people from Eidos Montreal. The new Deus Ex was expected to enter production towards the end of the year. Eidos Montreal stated that they will focus on another project with the latest development. It is said that Embracer Group’s $2 billion deal with Savvy Games Group has collapsed. It is stated that the company has closed some of its studios and made layoffs for this reason.

Volition studio, affiliated with Embracer, also closed its shutters before the new year. Although Volition is best known for Saints Row, it also developed the Red Faction series. The studio, which was also behind classics such as Descent and FreeSpace, was founded in 1993 and was a 30-year-old name. Embracer owns the naming rights to Red Faction and Saints Row. It is unclear what will happen to these two series. However, new games may be developed by a different studio.

Android 16 Release Date Leaked

Google makes a move that will excite Android users Android 16 had announced an earlier release timeline for . Now, new information has come to light about the exact release date.

According to the report, Android 16 will be officially released on June 3, 2025. This date marks much earlier than Android’s traditional Q3 or Q4 launches. This accelerated release schedule of Google aims to ensure that devices in the Android ecosystem are updated faster and more devices are released with Android 16. This step offers a strategic advantage, especially for the launch of the Pixel 10 series. Pixel 10 models, which are expected to be released in August 2025, are almost certain to come with Android 16 out of the box.

What to Expect?

The new Android version will not only be released on June 3 to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), but also compatible OTA (Over-the-Air) updates for Pixel devices are also planned to be available on the same day. This will allow other smartphone manufacturers to deliver Android 16-based updates to their users more quickly.

HPE Announces Industry's First Liquid Cooled System Architecture

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) announced the industry’s first 100 percent fanless, direct liquid-cooled system architecture to improve the energy and cost efficiency of large-scale AI systems.

Although efficiency is increasing in new generation computing infrastructures, energy consumption is also increasing with the rapid development of artificial intelligence and more is needed than traditional liquid cooling techniques.

The most effective way to cool new generation artificial intelligence systems is through direct liquid cooling systems pioneered by HPE. Thanks to this new cooling technology, the systems designed by HPE managed to be included in 7 of the top 10 supercomputers on the Green500 list, which lists the world’s most energy-efficient supercomputers.

HPE‘s 100 percent fanless direct liquid cooling architecture will enable the cost and energy efficiency advantages already enjoyed by leading AI systems to extend to all organizations working on productive AI.

“As organizations seize the opportunities created by generative AI, they must also support sustainability goals, combat increasing power requirements, and reduce operational costs,” said HPE President and CEO Antonio Neri.  Our new architecture uses only liquid cooling and provides greater energy and cost savings than alternative hybrid cooling solutions on the market. “HPE’s expertise in deploying the world’s largest liquid-cooled IT environments and our decades of market leadership positions us perfectly to capture demand for AI.”

The new system architecture is built on the following four pillars:

  • 8-component cooling design with liquid cooling for full blade server fabric, network, local storage, GPU, CPU, rack/cabinet, pod/cluster, and cooler distribution unit (CDU)
  • High-density, high-performance system design, complemented by rigorous testing, monitoring software and on-site service to support the successful deployment of sophisticated computing and cooling systems
  • Massively integrated network fabric design to integrate low-cost and low-power connections
  • Open system design offering flexibility in the selection of accelerators

The 100 percent fanless direct liquid cooling architecture offers unique advantages, including a 37 percent reduction in cooling power required per blade server compared to hybrid direct liquid cooling alone. This reduces electricity costs, carbon emissions and data center fan noise. Additionally, systems using this architecture support greater server cabinet density and take up half less space.
