OpenAI and Google use YouTube to train their artificial intelligence. Here are all the details.

OpenAI and Google are training AI models on text copied from YouTube videos, according to The New York Times. This potentially violates the copyrights of content creators. The report, which focuses on artificial intelligence from AI companies Google and Meta, cites multiple people with knowledge of the companies’ practices. It comes just days after YouTube CEO Neal Mohan recently said in an interview with Bloomberg Originals that the company’s alleged use of YouTube videos to train its new text-to-video creator, Sora, would be against the platform’s policies. It looks like the company is using these videos no matter how against policy it is.

OpenAI uses YouTube to train its artificial intelligence

According to the NYT, the company used the Whisper speech recognition tool to transcribe more than a million hours of YouTube videos, which were then used to train GPT-4. The Information previously reported that the company used YouTube videos and podcasts to train its two AI systems. Company president Greg Brockman was reportedly among those on that team. In a statement to the NYT, Google spokesman Matt Bryant said that “unauthorized scraping or downloading of YouTube content” is not allowed under Google’s rules, and also that of the company He said he was unaware of any such use by OpenAI.

However, the report claims that there are people at Google who know about OpenAI but do not take action against it because Google uses YouTube videos to train its own AI models. Google told the NYT it only does this with videos from creators who agree to do so. Engadget has reached out to Google and OpenAI for comment.

OpenAI and Microsoft Partnership is in Danger Due to AGI!

OpenAI’s future plans have been revealed. A new report stated that the company wants to remove a clause regarding AGI. This article touches Microsoft. Without further ado, let’s see what’s going on.

When OpenAI reaches AGI (Artificial general intelligence) Microsoft Trying to remove a clause that excludes . If it does this, it could pave the way for billions of dollars of investments in the future. Under current conditions, once AGI is developed, Microsoft’s access to such technology will be invalid. OpenAI’s board of directors will decide on access to AGI. However, this situation may alienate new and high-sum investments from the company.

According to sources familiar with the matter, OpenAI plans to remove the requirement for the use of AGI from the corporate structure, thus enabling large technology companies to access AGI and receive investments. Sources said that the issue has been discussed and no decision has been taken yet. Options are being discussed by the board.

The article in question prevents the misuse of AGI (or similar technologies) for commercial purposes. It also gives ownership of the technology to the nonprofit’s board of directors. OpenAI’s website also states that “AGI is expressly excluded from all commercial and intellectual property licensing agreements.” However, this clause potentially limits the partnership for Microsoft, which has poured more than $13 billion into OpenAI. The software giant may also withdraw from investing.

OpenAI releases a new product to rival Google

Companies like Google and Amazon have deep pockets. They cover the costs they incur in developing artificial intelligence. OpenAI is financially inferior to these companies. If we consider the eye-popping costs of AI, OpenAI will need more funding.

OpenAI declined to make any comments about the restructuring, removal of the controversial item, board discussions. But Bret Taylor, the company’s chairman, stated that they continue to advance AGI’s mission to benefit humanity. Microsoft did not make a statement as usual.

ChatGPT Pro's Monthly Fee Will Burn Your Pocket

OpenAI wants to make ChatGPT and various artificial intelligence tools available for free to as many users as possible, and the company frequently explains this. But the company is also branching out into paid ventures. The monthly price of ChatGPT Pro, the newest paid initiative, is going to burn a hole in the wallet.

OpenAI will be making a series of announcements over the next 12 days. While some of these will be big news, some will be smaller developments. As a result, Sam Altman emphasized that there will be announcements. According to TechCrunch’s report, before the first announcement, OpenAI’s website included what we can call ultra-premium products. ChatGPT Pro membership was discovered. The real striking thing about this membership is that it has a monthly fee of $200. This is a high fee. The monthly fee for ChatGPT Plus is 20 dollars.

ChatGPT Pro

As can be seen in the feature list, ChatGPT Pro offers unlimited access to models such as o1 and GPT-4o. In addition, it is expected to include a sound mode and a new o1 mode. One of the users also found evidence for o1 pro mode on ChatGPT. o1 pro will most likely be exclusive to ChatGPT Pro membership. According to the leaked image, o1 pro will benefit from more processing power to give the best answers to the most difficult questions.

Even though ChatGPT Pro has high-end features, unlimited access, o1 pro, and more processing power, $200 per month is too much, especially for individual users. It’s already caused a backlash. On the other hand, Pro membership may be of interest to corporate customers. Maybe OpenAI could charge less instead of $200. This is all that is known for now. We will share developments about OpenAI with you as they occur.
