Semiconductor giant Intel was planning to establish a chip production facility in Germany. But the California-based company postponed its facility plans.
Intel Chief Executive Officer Pat Gelsinger said on Monday that the company has postponed the construction of the chip factory it planned to establish in Germany for at least two years. According to DPA (Deutsche Presse-Agentur), Intel was planning to create employment for 3000 people by establishing two chip factories near Berlin. The groundbreaking ceremony was also going to take place this year. Intel’s investment was worth 30 billion euros ($33 billion), and the German government also promised 9.9 billion euros worth of aid to the company. Production was planned to start in 2027 or 2028.
The California-based company has been in bad financial shape for some time. Trying to combat the loss, the company announced a $10 billion savings plan last month. Regarding savings measures, Pat Gelsinger said, “We must continue to move to create a more competitive cost structure and achieve the $10 billion savings target.”
According to industry sources, the two-year postponement period is an optimistic period. An industry official who did not want to give his name said, “The company is having a hard time financially. Therefore, it is not surprising that the production facility was suspended. I believe that the two-year postponement is an optimistic period. “This period may be longer,” he commented.

Nintendo Switch 2’s goal will be to surpass PlayStation 5
Nintendo’s original Switch portable gaming console has managed to become one of the best-selling consoles of all time, beating out Sony’s PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 individually. Now it wants to repeat this success with Nintendo Switch 2.
Nintendo’s original Switch portable gaming console has managed to become one of the best-selling consoles of all time, beating out Sony’s PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 individually. Now it wants to repeat this success with Nintendo Switch 2.
Now Nintendo is said to be working on a new console called Nintendo Switch 2. It is a matter of curiosity whether this new portable console can compete with strong rivals such as PlayStation 5 Pro. The original Switch was released with the NVIDIA Tegra X1 chipset, but could not compete with the PS4 and PS5 in terms of gaming performance. However, according to leaks, it is said that Switch 2 will receive a serious hardware upgrade and will thus offer power to compete with PS4. Still, the strengths of portable consoles are portability and versatility, not just performance.
One of the biggest reasons for Nintendo’s success was the Switch’s innovative form factor, which can be used as both a portable and stationary console. The console offered great flexibility, making it easier to play with friends with the removable structure of the JoyCon controllers. It is said that Switch 2 will improve this design and make it even more useful with Magnetic JoyCons. It is also reported that the screen will also grow to 8 inches and offer a larger, more impressive gaming experience.
Exclusive Games and the Power of Nintendo
One of the biggest factors that increase sales success in the console world is special games. Sony’s PlayStation console had a huge advantage thanks to its extensive range of first-party games like God of War and Uncharted. However, the arrival of these games on the PC platform over time may have somewhat reduced the motivation to choose PlayStation.
On the other hand NintendoIt keeps iconic game series such as Mario and Legend of Zelda under tight control. Nintendo’s control over these games allows the console to develop an unparalleled player base. Nintendo’s legendary game series can enable Nintendo Switch 2 to gain a strong place in this competitive environment.
The Nintendo Switch 2 can compete with strong rivals like the PlayStation 5 Pro with portability, versatility, and Nintendo’s powerful exclusive games. While it’s not quite at PlayStation level in terms of performance, it has the potential to be one of the most powerful among portable gaming consoles. Nintendo is expected to make a big impact in the gaming world again with this new console.
