During the TFT Tactician’s Crown Finals on July 14, Riot Games shared a first look at the gameplay features that will be featured in Magic n Mayhem, including mechanics, traits, power-ups, and champions, including three brand new characters. The company also announced TFT’s next global LAN event, which will take place in Macao, China, from December 13-15, 2024.

Magic n Mayhem features champions from other fan-favorite Riot Games games. Norra, the iconic Yordle from Riot’s strategy card game Legends of Runeterra, is preparing to make her TFT debut as a duo with her best friend Yuumi. New League of Legends champions Briar and Smolder will also step into Convergence for the first time. Additionally, TFT has collaborated with Riot’s mobile game League of Legends for the Chrono costume series called Stargazer.
In Magic n’ Mayhem, players will be able to further their magic mastery with the new game mechanic Charms, which are single-use purchasable spells. The new set contains more than 100 Charms, allowing players to master all types of spells, making the gaming experience interesting. Charms serve different functions, including combat power, economy, granting destruction, buffing stats, and more.
“With its whimsical vibe, vibrant colors, and cheerful champions, Magic n’ Mayhem captures the joyful spirit of summer,” said Sam Judd, Magic n’ Mayhem Set Lead Designer at Riot Games. “We wanted to create a place where players could embrace their creativity and prove their mastery of a variety of magical arts alongside the champions they know and love. We can’t wait to open the doors of the Magitorium!”
Fans will also see some familiar faces from previous TFT sets in Magic n’ Mayhem. By popular demand, Faerie champion Milio, who first appeared in TFT’s 9.5 set Horizonbound, as well as Dragon champions Nomsy and Shyvana from TFT’s 7th set Dragonlands, will also return to the battlefield.
The new set comes with 27 traits, 60 champions and over 200 Augments. The set will be available to players with new High Risk Augments that will transform TFT’s high risk, high reward gaming experience.
Additionally, the Magitorium will welcome new Tacticians. These will include Lumie, the newest Little Legend, variants of Lumie, and new variants of existing Bun Bun Little Legends.
Magic n Mayhem will also introduce four new Chibi champions. These champions include Basic Chibi Miss Fortune, Chibi Battle Bunny Miss Fortune, Chibi Galaxy Slayer Zed, and Chibi Prestige Cafe Cuties Gwen. Players will also get their first look at the new premium Le Bunny Bonbon Bistro arena.
“Magic n Mayhem reflects TFT’s commitment to experimenting with innovative themes and cross-game collaborations, and its mission to preserve the ultimate core gameplay experience,” said Peter Whalen, Game Director of Riot Games’ Teamfight Tactics. “We can’t wait to watch them discover some fun surprises along the way.”

However, divisions within the studio that developed the game resulted in the cancellation of this sequel. The people who left that studio are now working on a brand new game.

Longdue Games now has a new RPG game that treads similar waters with Disco Elysium is developing. It is said that this will be a spiritual sequel to DE. So, even though it is not a real sequel, it will continue to keep alive what made that game special.
Not many details were shared about this new game developed by Longdue Games. However, it was announced that this game would be about the complex relationship between the mind and the environment. In this game, players will be part of a story-driven experience, and players’ choices will have the potential to affect both their characters and the world around them. The fact that player choices shape the story was one of the strongest aspects of the original game.
